(Halle Berry, riding in a golf cart and wearing Dolce & Gabbana on the course, via Us Magazine ) Halle Berry, who took up the game of golf not too long ago herself, has teamed up with the Callaway Golf Foundation to serve as “ambassador” in the fight against ovarian cancer. The news release states: Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry has joined forces with the Callaway Golf Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation as the 2008 ambassador for the Callaway Golf Foundation Women’s Cancer Initiative. Berry will be featured in an extensive print public service announcement campaign this summer aimed at raising awareness and funds to help find a cure for ovarian cancer.

Unfortunately for us Europeans, the performances of Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell and Justin Rose just couldn’t inspire the rest of the team to pick up their games as they tried to conquer the American lead on the final day of the Ryder Cup. When Padriag Harrington & Robert Karlsson stepped onto the tee to face Phil Mickleson & Anthony Kim in the first foursome on Friday, all eyes were on how many points Europe would win by.
